Public Realm, Discovery Bay, Hong Kong
Andrew Moor designed these five glass sculptors for a garden in Discovery Bay, Hong Kong.
The tallest monolith is 2.5m above ground level. The smallest is about 1.7m tall. The glass is made with thin strips of glass fused together and bonded back to back to give added strength. They have been resin-bonded into steel boxes bolted to a concrete foundation. Because of occasional typhoons, they have to be able to withstand winds up to 170mph!
