Creating privacy or obscuring unattractive views are two common objectives given by clients and which we address by transforming the problem into an asset. This private house in Mayfair had a rear window that was 1800 x 5100mm and immediately overlooked the neighbours conservatory kitchen. The planners required the window to be completely obscured. We designed this delicate and unobtrusive feature introducing a soft, natural warmth without dominating or overwhelming the space. The window is made from four stacked panels, each screen-printed with enamelled halftone colours and bonded with narrow horizontal silicone joints.
